How To Effectively Stop Facebook Group Spam

Dealing With Facebook Group Spam

A common theme we here from friends and colleagues on Facebook is the prevalence of Facebook Group spam. What we mean by that is when you are added to a group you have no interest in, often by somebody who you just accepted a friend request from. This "friend" typically does not reach out by private message or any other means to see if you would be interested in joining the group first.
Most people in this situation immediately leave the group, and this is where it can get even more annoying. Some group administrators continue adding you back to the group, even after you choose to leave. One instance we saw had a Facebook user added to a group over 12 times when he kept leaving the group.
The common consensus we have heard among our connections is that nobody likes this type of behavior with Facebook groups is very annoying and ruins the Facebook experience. Facebook doesn't seem to be addressing this problem at all, so this quick little guide will help you deal with Facebook Group spam on your own.
When you are added to a Facebook Group that you don't want to be a member of, follow the simple steps below.
1. Check Your Notifications
